About this page.

Has Reef Wellness Studio been featured in these publications?
No, and we would never imply otherwise. Every article on this page is about reformer Pilates as a form of exercise, not about our studio. We have not opened yet, so there is nothing for anyone to review.
Why show other people's articles at all?
Because reformer Pilates is new to a lot of people in Shrewsbury, and the fastest way to understand why we are building this is to read what the people who have already looked into it concluded.
Where can I read the research rather than the press?
Our evidence round-up links the peer-reviewed studies alongside the press coverage, and is clear about what individual studies do and do not prove.
Why has Reformer Pilates become so popular?
ClassPass has named Pilates the most booked workout in the world three years running, with Reformer bookings up 71% in 2025 and more than 15 million reservations that year. There are now 1,978 verified Pilates studios in the UK, and every one of them offers Reformer.
Is there Reformer Pilates in Shrewsbury town centre?
There are Reformer studios in and around Shrewsbury, but until reef opens in December there is no full Reformer studio inside the town centre itself. reef sits on Wyle Cop, a few minutes' walk from the Square.
What is Reformer Pilates?
A padded bed that slides on rails, held by springs, with a footbar at one end and straps at the other. You push the carriage away and control it back, so your muscles work in both directions with no momentum to hide behind.
When does reef open in Shrewsbury?
reef opens in December 2026. Pre-booking opens in November, and everyone on the free manual list is contacted first.
Where is reef in Shrewsbury?
reef is at 57 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 1XJ, in the lower half of Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury town centre. There is a car park directly across the road, and St Julian's Friars car park behind the building holds 257 spaces.
What is the Reformer Pilates Manual?
A free 42-page guide: the machine taken apart, the springs explained, your first 50 minutes minute by minute, every common worry answered, and every statistic sourced at the back. It arrives by email straight away and costs nothing.
Why is it spelled Reef with two Es?
Reformer is the machine. Reef is the way we teach it at reef. Same apparatus, same principles, our environment, our technology and our standards.
How much does Reformer Pilates cost in Shrewsbury?
reef publishes its prices and full timetable in November, and everyone on the free manual list sees them first. For orientation while you wait, the State of UK Pilates 2026 report puts a typical regional Reformer class at £15 to £26 a session. We will not invent a number and then change it.
